Within the framework of the two regional tourism EU funded ENPI CBC projects Umayyad and GOALS
the 2nd Euro-Mediterranean Tourism Forum is organized at 15:00 hrs on Tuesday 8th September 2015 at the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce with the participation of specialized partners from 7 Euro-Mediterranean countries (Greece, Italy; Spain; Egypt, Lebanon, Jordan and Palestine).
The speakers will present different strategies for off-season management for tourism in Alexandria + North Coast as well as strategies for accessibility and diversification of the tourism offer. The conference will shed light on the upcoming project activities for GOALS and Umayyad and include a panel discussion with local and international specialists.
GOALS and Umayyad projects focus on niche tourism itineraries to develop the economy of specific regions, and specifically Alexandria in Egypt. They aim at creating and promoting new niche tourism regional itineraries as well as capacity building tourism support organizations and the creation of tourism support teams.
The active involvement of the local business communities as well as public bodies are the most important guarantee of feasibility of the project. From the participation in this process local stakeholders will benefit of the international network improving tourism strategies and identifying future investment projects (private, public).
