EU ENPI CBC MedDiet, Umayyad and GOALS Capitalization Conference 
and Launch of the MedDiet Label
The Conference will include the Launch of a MedDiet Quality Label for restaurants as well as the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding, a session on promoting culinary tourism in Egypt and a MedDiet Quality Label Roundtable.
GACIC is the Egyptian Partner at the EU ENPI CBC MED project GOALS that aims to promote a participatory approach and sustainable tourism strategies in the Mediterranean.
An emphasis on participatory process of SMEs, tourism NGOs, local agri-food producers, local handcraft artisans and public-private partnerships for local tourism related enterprises is part of the GOALS methodology by bringing all stakeholders together in Local Focus Group meetings. All of the above mentioned contributes to the output of the project: namely the creation of 7 itineraries comprising 28 tourist packages for the GOALS project partner countries. The itineraries focus on preservation of the natural and cultural heritage as well as providing an authentic and unique travel experience. The project is situated in Alexandria governerate. The partners involved in the project are institutions from Spain, Italy, Greece, Lebanon, Palestine, Jordan and Egypt.
