The German-Arab Chamber of Industry and Commerce and Mena Associates invite you to join us for an Investors Briefing on “Egypt’s New Investment Law”.
In March 2015 Egypt has enacted a new Investment Law (Presidential Decree 17 of 2015) accompanying the Economic Conference hosted by Egypt in Sharm El-Sheikh. The new Investment Law was heralded as the beginning of a new era of doing business in Egypt. The law expands privileges and benefits of investors, introduces new concepts such as the “one-stop-shop” and the criminal liability of the firm, and thoroughly amends land allocation and dispute resolution.
This round table brings together senior policy makers and practitioners from the private sector to discuss the first experiences with the new regulations. Particular emphasis will be made on how companies can benefit from the amendments introduced by the new law and how foreign direct investment in Egypt is legally protected – domestically and on the international plane. The round table further will provide a forum to exchange experiences relating to the new law, raise concerns and brainstorm solutions, and discuss these issues with senior policy makers.
